Yongin Severance Hospital was opened on April 14, 1983, as a part of the Gangnam Severance Hospital project in order to provide medical care for patients in the Yongin area. At first, the hospital consisted of 2 floors and a basement for a total floor area of 1,441㎡ and 30 beds in a lot of 706㎡. Its departments included Internal Medicine, General Surgery, Pediatrics, and Obstetrics " Gynecology. On September 27, 1984, new management changed the name of the hospital to Yongin Severance Hospital.
Yongin Severance Hospital was renovated in September of 1992 and presently has 186 beds and functions as a general hospital. The medical service was expanded to include Neurosurgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Otorhinolaryngology, Radiology, Anesthesiology, Clinical Pathology and Dentistry. An emergency room, operating room, and intensive care unit were added to deal with the problems of the community.
On Mar. 1,1993, Yongin Severance Hospital consolidated with Kwangju Severance Hospital, and now their professors, medical technicians, nurses and business personnel work jointly.
Presently, the hospital operates 132 beds in an area of 7,397㎡.
