The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is responsible for treating various diseases related to the mouth, jaws and face; traumatization and reconstruction; and congenital or acquired deformities.
The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery has played a leading role in the area of oral and maxillofacial surgery through a numerous number of basic and clinical studies up until today since the time of initially performing the oral and maxillofacial surgery in 1921 by Dr. Boots a doctor of oral surgery. Our department has been consistently grown by the faculty members responsible for a wide range of specialized diagnosis and treatment such as for prevention and treatment of malignant and active cancer on the parts of mouth and face; orthognathic surgery for microvascular reconstruction of jaw defects, facial deformity, malocclusion, facial asymmetry, maxillo-mandibular prognathism and retrognathism; orthopedic treatment for facial bone fracture, maxilla, mandible, zygoma and nasal bone; cleft lip
and palate surgery; disease treatment for salivary gland and temporomandibular joint; implant installation; impacted 3rd molar surgery; and maxillofacial complicated infection.
Our department retains advanced photographing instruments such as digital intraoral X-ray equipment, various extraoral X-ray and FCR equipments, SCANORA multifunctional X-ray equipment, and computed tomography (CT) and performs various radiographic actions to diagnose accurately and quickly the diseases appeared on the oral and maxillofacial region by using these instruments appropriately.
