Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology

We would like to welcome your visit to the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology.
Like the words “No X-ray, then no medical science,” this may also be applied to the dental treatment. Especially for the dental treatment, it is essential to take radiographs in order to know about disease conditions accurately since the subjects for medical treatment are mostly hard tissues such as teeth or bones.
We have completely converted the past work system of photographing, developing and reading films into the digital work system by introducing and building the filmless full picture archiving and communication system (PACS) in February of 2004. By doing so, we could reduce the amount of patients’ exposure to radioactive rays and at the same time, can obtain excellent diagnostic images faster and easier. As the result, it may reduce the waiting time of patients while medical doctors can establish appropriate treatment plans to make diagnosis more accurately by allowing checking images easy and quick and can easily trace the prognosis that may occur upon medical treatment..

Our department retains advanced photographing instruments such as digital intraoral X-ray equipment, various extraoral X-ray and FCR equipments, SCANORA multifunctional X-ray equipment, and computed tomography (CT) and performs various radiographic actions to diagnose accurately and quickly the diseases appeared on the oral and maxillofacial region by using these instruments appropriately.
