The virtual reality clinic is the world’s first virtual reality psychiatric rehabilitation system created by the team from the mind-mapping laboratory of Institute of Behavioral Science in Medicine at the Yonsei University College of Medicine and the VR research team from the department of biomedical engineering at Hanyang University. The virtual reality technique is enables the patients to train in the 3-D environment similar to reality where uniform training and step-wise repeating training are possible. The patients cope with various situations occurring in reality and effective skill acquisition is possible in less anxious atmosphere since he/she can interact with avatars. This clinic is used as the place where schizophrenic patients learn how to talk with other people, learn social skills, and learn to express their emotions. This clinic is offers special equipment including a specialized projector, 3D immersion head-mounted device, virtual distance measuring system, automatic recording and 3D sound system, and one-way mirror for effective display of virtual reality. erience and happiness and in the case of managing symptoms through drug treatment, personal relationships and emotional expressions.
