Department of Clinical Genetics
According to the recent study results, genetic diseases are not rare as to take up about 10% of all patients. Also, more efforts for the medical examination and treatment in the gene level are made in all fields of medicine. Clinically, genetic diseases can appear in many forms and hence, cooperation with various related departments can be an essential part in diagnosing and treating them. Therefore, we try hard to prepare the optimal conditions that support such medical examination and treatment environment in order to provide appropriate medical services to patients.
Goals and Activities
The Department of Clinical Genetics tries hard for patients to lead better quality of life through a comprehensive management cooperatively with several other departments related to diagnosing and treating genetic diseases at the gene level and to finding the causes of genetic diseases. Clinically, we diagnose and treat patients by dividing the area into the fields of cytogenetics, molecular genetics, cancer genetics and dysmorphology while publishing and presenting on various domestic and overseas symposiums held by related academic societies to obtain latest information or to exchange relevant information.
