Neurosurgery is a clinical field of medical examination and surgery for the injuries, tumors, cerebrovascular diseases, functional disorders, and congenital diseases that can occur on the brain and spinal system.

 

Major Clinical Results

  • Performing about 3,500 cases of clipping surgery and intraaneurysmal coiling for cerebral aneurysm
  • Performing about 2,000 cases of microvascular decompression (MVD) for hemifacial spasm, about 200 cases of deep brain stimulation (DBS) for Parkinson disease, and about 2,500 cases of gamma knife surgery
  • Performing about 1,000 cases of spinal cord operations every year
  • Annually performing about 1,000 cases of brain tumor operations (adults and young children) while using advanced neuronavigation devices and MRI (Intraoperative MRI) within the operation rooms, first in Asia
  • In addition to these, we are actively performing various surgical operations for intractable epilepsy, congenital malformation of the central nervous system, hydrocephalus, cerebral vascular malformation and other external injury, annually conducting about 3,500 cases of operations in relation to the spine and spinal cord diseases.
