The first graduate of Chechungwon Medical School Dr. Seok Hoo Hong, established the EYE and ENT Hospital in 1908. In 1923, it was divided into ophthalmology and otorlaryngology and then in October 1996, it reopened as the EYE and ENT Hospital for patients' convenience and to support the specialization of medical treatment. The hospital provides subspecialized medical services with the most modern equipment and facilities, and pleasant environment. It serves an average of 900 outpatients daily and is trying its best to shorten the waiting period.

The Department of Ophthalmolgy developed a Cornea fixation device for refractive surgery, and improved the vascular disorders of glaucoma patients by acupuncture through cooperation between Western and Oriental medicine and operating Ambulatory Day Surgery. The Department operates the nation's only Bechet's disease Specialized Clinic for Bechet's disease, a Korean endemic disease, to improve diagnosis and therapeutic intervention. It also operates a Cataracts Clinic, Myopia Correction Clinic, Glaucoma Clinic, Retina and Vitreous Clinic, Laser Clinic, Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus Clinic, Ophthalmoplasth and Low Vision Rehabilitation Clinic. The Institute of Vision Research carries out research into determining the cause, treatment and prevention of diseases that cause vision disorders. In addition, it has an established sisterhood relationship with the Wills Eye Hospital of Thomas Jefferson University, the oldest ophthalmology specialized hospital and one of the four best ophthalmolgy hospitals in the world, and undertakes joint education, research and medical service programs. It is developing into one of the world's major research institutions in this field. The Department of Otorlaryngology performed the nation's first artificial cochlear implant operation. Rehabilitation Clinic, Vertigo (dizziness)Clinc, Tinnitus (buzzing in the ears) Clinic, Allergy Clinic, Snoring Clinic, Head and Neck Tumor Clinic and a Vocal Speech Rehabilitation Clinic) and various laboratories specific to each disease. The Institution of Logopedics and Phoniatrics carries out medical research into phonetics and the Korea language and provides voice management, medical services and seminars for vocal performers.
