Comprehensive Rehabilitation Programs

A team of rehabilitation professionals from many disciplines provides multidisciplinary rehabilitation services to meet each patient's unique needs. The patient and his or her family are important members of the team and they hold the most important key to open doors to a new way or life through successful rehabilitation.

Medical Servies

The team is led by physiatrists, medical doctors with specialized training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. The physiatrists prescribe the necessary therapy program, supervise the delivery of medical care and closely monitor the patient's progress. Also, the physiatrists carry out diagnostic evaluations using EMG, isokinetic strenth testing, urodynamic study, DITI, modified barium swallowing tests, 3-dimensional motion

Rehabilitation Mursing

Nurses specially trained in rehabilitation medicine are dedicated to caring for patients full-time and to preventing complicational encouragement to patients and their families.

Physical Therapy

Physical therapy is one area where the rehabilitation team provides unique therapies with special emphasis on physical mobility. It employs such physical mobility. It employs such physical modalities as heat, cold, electricity, light, water, mechanical forces, and physical exercise. Our hospital is equipped with a therapeutic pool and a wide assortment of high-technology equipment in order to provide optimal care for each patient.

Occupational Therapy

The most advanced and appropriate devices, such as a prosthesis to replace a missing limb or an orthosis to stabilize a weak or paralyzed limb, are provided. Any necessary adjustments and training are also supplied.

Psychology Servives

Trained psychologists evaluate the psychological status of patients and family members using various psychological tests, and help to improve rehabilitation results through psychological interventions such as supportive counselling, cognitive-behavioral therapy and cognitive-rehabilitation.

Therapeutic Recreation

Through various activities, new leisure skills are taught, old leisure interests are adapted and available community resources are provided. Through active participation in the programs, patients are provided with the chance to express their creativity and enjoy life, and in turn, improve their independence level.

School for Disabled Children

The Yonsei Rehabilitation School aims to provide simultaneous education and rehabilitation services in intellectual, physical, emotional, and social areas to maximize the potential abilities of children with disabilities. The school is composed of a kindergarten and elementary classes, and the special-education teachers provide individualized programs using a wide variety of educational materials.

Social Services

Clinical social workers provide counselling services on familial, social and economic issues. Emotional and family problems, insurance and hospital payment, and other financial problems are dealt with through counselling. Access to a variety of community services and options to enhance the patient's functioning as he or she moves through the health care system are also provided.
